The Parish of Taynton, situated on the edge of the Forest of Dean, is a predominantly rural community with Hown Hall linking low lying Kents Green to the spectacular area of Glasshouse and the National Trust owned May Hill.

The Taynton Parish Council meets four times a year either at the May Hill Village Hall or the Taynton and Tibberton Village Hall.
